Attempts to Pressure Dubček

At first, the USSR tried to pressure Dubček into ending the reforms.

Soviet leaders held meetings and warned him that the reforms were going too far.

However, Dubček continued introducing changes.

Soviet Invasion of Czechoslovakia

In August 1968, Soviet forces and Warsaw Pact troops invaded Czechoslovakia.

Around 500,000 troops entered the country.

The invasion quickly ended the Prague Spring.
