Problems With the System

The feudal system also had weaknesses.

1. Powerful Barons

Some barons became extremely wealthy and powerful.

This could threaten the king.

2. Unfair Society

Peasants had very few rights.

Most of the wealth and power belonged to nobles.

3. Dependence on Loyalty

The system depended on nobles remaining loyal.

If powerful nobles rebelled, the kingdom could become unstable.
