Nazis believed Germans were part of a “master race” called the Aryans.

- Disabled people
- Homosexuals
- Political opponents
Policies:
- Nuremberg Laws (1935) removed Jewish citizenship rights
- Jews banned from many jobs and public life
- Kristallnacht (1938) saw attacks on Jewish homes, synagogues, and businesses
- Increasing segregation and forced emigration
