The Nazi Party appealed to different groups in different ways:
- Workers: promised jobs and an end to unemployment
- Middle class: promised stability and protection from communism
- Farmers: promised relief from debt and falling prices
- Nationalists: promised to restore German pride after Versailles
The Nazis also blamed:
- The Treaty of Versailles
- Weimar politicians (“November Criminals”)
- Jews and communists (as scapegoats)
